Windows XP folders suddenly disappear?

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 (Chinese). Recently, my files started to disappear suddenly when I click "Back" then "For example again.For before D: page MP3 John folder, clicking on the" return " goes to D: Page Folder MP3 and John is nowhere. I am very sure that these files are not "hidden." However, when you type D: MP3 Page John in the address bar, the record of John's still there and all the files inside can be used. Because my mp3 store on partition D: and my Windows is installed on partition C: , I formatted C: and reinstall Windows. The "Juan" folder still does not. Thinking could be a hard disk problem, I used the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test software to scan the hard disk thorougly and no error was found. Using the same program I erased the whole disk drive, reinstall Windows, and copy MP3 files from a hard disk of a backup. It worked well at first and after some time files start to disappear again! Anyone can help?

After looking around on the web, I found an article entitled "folders disappear character name if they have invalid file "in XP. Have you tried to change the name of your files and make sure not to use special characters such as bar key? I do not know if this helps, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Good luck!
